Mastering Your Poops
Warning: I talk about digestive health (poop) in this article. Click away if you don’t wanna hear about my shi… poop.
A few years ago, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and I had a need to log my bowel movements and statistics about them for my doctor. I was using a notepad for a while, but this is obviously at odds with the fact that I’m a nerd and shouldn’t be using physical paper for anything!
I eventually got sick of the piles of hard copies as they accumulated and decided I should write a program to track this for me, and Poopmaster was born.
Looking back on the code, there was a decent amount in it that I did right, but I’ve learned so much since then from my time at Lambda school. This led me to the decision to completely revamp the codebase in this project and make it way more robust.
It now looks much slicker, has a free trial for the in app subscription, has MUCH better statistical analysis, better performance, and most importantly, a better foundation for future growth.
Check it out on the App Store – be sure to download a copy! It’s free for a month, so if you don’t like it, be sure to cancel your subscription before the time is up!
Poopmaster Pro has a super easy to use interface designed around efficiently tracking your digestive health (poops and farts). Simply tell it when you’re in the bathroom and optionally log additional meta data to help you track how well you’re doing.
This app is intended primarily for those suffering from ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease, but others may find it useful as well.
The main features are:
- Easy to use interface
- Quickly assess your most recent entries with expressive and informative graphics
- Reminders to log statistics about your poop after you’ve finished in the bathroom
- Charts to assess your progress over time – see if your current habits are improving or deteriorating your health!
- Track both poops and farts
- And statistics relating to both (pain/urgency/solidity/etc)
- Ability to add notes to individual entries
- Option to keep a photo log
- Custom tracking of different statistics
- Silly noises
- Option to export your data either for migration to another device or to CSV (you can share with your doctor or run further analysis with spreadsheets on your computer)
- Excellent privacy – no personal information ever leaves the app without your permission
Everyone gets to try everything out with no obligation for a whole month, after which the subscription price is a pocket change level of 49ยข per month.
If you’re already using the old Poopmaster, migration is super easy! (just make sure to upgrade the old Poopmaster to the latest version)
